Synopsis and Discussion
An area of unsettled weather will continue to move east through Arizona Tuesday. Clouds will begin to thin later Tuesday afternoon with showers decreasing across the Phoenix forecast area. Ozone production will be limited as a result, remaining well in the "Good" range of the Air Quality Index (AQI).
Skies will clear late Tuesday into Wednesday as high pressure starts to build from the west. This will allow afternoon desert temperatures to warm to the mid 70s, just slightly below normal for this time of year. Ozone levels are forecast to remain in the "Good" range through Thursday, increasing slightly heading into the weekend. Sunny skies and a much stronger ridge of high pressure will push temperatures into the lower 80s on Saturday and Sunday, and upper 80s by next Tuesday and Wednesday. Low "Moderate" ozone readings are possible early next week.
Recent Valley rain and cloud cover has also suppressed particle pollution once again. This will also keep PM10 and PM2.5 concentrations in the "Good" range the next several days. Following Tuesday's rain, the Phoenix forecast area can expect dry conditions for at least the next 7 days.
Check back tomorrow for the latest. Until then, have a good day! -J.Paul
