Synopsis and Discussion
A strong ridge aloft will be over the Valley today and then move east on Wednesday. A rather strong upper level system will develop over the CA coast and Great Basin late Wednesday before beginning to track east on Thursday. It should be breezy from the west on Thursday, but otherwise no significant weather impacts are expected locally from this disturbance as it skirts by to the north. By Thursday afternoon low-level winds will assume a configuration conducive to the transport of additional ozone and/or its precursors from CA, so a minor increase in local ozone levels is expected. Even so, highest concentrations of all air pollutants are forecast to remain within the good range of the Air Quality Index. -Reith
