Synopsis and Discussion
AN OZONE HEALTH WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR MONDAY AUGUST 25
A significant upswing in shower and thunderstorm activity is likely to
impact the local forecast area by late today and Tuesday as added
moisture from Tropical Storm Julio combines with increasing summer
moisture already underway. Until the rain arrives, however, there will
be a higher risk for areas of blowing dust from strong thunderstorm
outflow boundaries - primarily from those that approach from the east
and south thru west. Extensive residual cloud cover now appears likely
during much of Tuesday, so ozone level predictions have been lowered for
that day. -Reith
