Synopsis and Discussion
*PM-10 Health Watch has been issued for Wednesday, February 28, 2007*
Two disturbances will dive south and then push east through Arizona this week. The first one is expected to affect Arizona Wednesday, dropping afternoon desert temperatures about 10 degrees, to the low 60s. It will also increase afternoon winds to around 20-30 mph at times. There is only a 10% chance of a passing shower in the Valley Wednesday, but clouds are probable. The second disturbance will clip the Four Corners region Thursday afternoon, keeping the forecast area cool for one more day. High pressure will then return over the week, allowing temps to race towards 80°F by the weekend. Winds with no rain Wednesday and Thursday are a recipe for possible blowing dust. Thus, Particulate levels will climb well into the "Moderate" range during this period. Air quality improves Friday through Sunday with lighter winds and decreased work-week activities. Check back tomorrow for the latest. Have a good day! -J.Paul
