County: Maricopa

Location: Phoenix, bounded by Indian School Road to the north, Piccadilly Road to the south, 38th Street to the east and 36th Street to the west

Contaminant of concern: Tetrachloroethene (PCE)

Action taken: ADEQ conducted an early response action (ERA) that consisted of a soil vapor extraction (SVE) system to remediate the source of PCE in the soil and groundwater. The system was started in 1994, operated intermittently and shut down in March 2003 and the SVE system was removed from the site. In 2014, additional groundwater monitor wells were installed. The final remedial investigation (RI) report was completed in April 2015 and the feasibility study work plan was completed in May 2015.

Status: The site is in the feasibility study (FS) phase. The feasibility study (FS) report is currently in the process of being drafted. Groundwater sampling and drilling is ongoing to determine the lateral and vertical extent of PCE contamination and options for remedial action.

Community Advisory Board (CAB): Established and meets on a regular basis
