Forecast Discussion:

Like much of the state, PM10 concentrations are elevated this morning. A small low pressure system moving over northern Mexico was enough to kick up dust down there and send it into Arizona. Fortunately, concentrations are improving and the AQI is forecast to stay in the Good range. Looking ahead, winds will get stronger as we head towards the end of the week. The strongest winds are expected on Friday with gusts up around 30-35 mph. This may be enough for PM10 to reach into the Moderate AQI category on Friday. Over the weekend, winds will begin to weaken as the trough moves off to the east allowing PM10 to return to the Good range.
