Forecast Discussion:

Water vapor this morning shows an area of low pressure off the coast of Northern Baja, which is helping to draw some moisture up into the area of the south. At the same time, a developing trough is located off the coast of the Pacific Northwest. The trough will drop down the West Coast and into Arizona tomorrow into early Friday. The energy from this second system, combined with the moisture being drawn into the region from the low off of Baja, will increase rain chances tomorrow late afternoon/evening through Friday morning. Rainfall totals are forecast to be in the 0.25 to 0.50-inch range, which is the most we have seen in a long time!

As the storm system approaches, expect west/southwest winds in the 15-20mph range tomorrow afternoon through the evening. While these winds might produce some isolated pockets of blowing dust, rain should quickly follow to help settle anything that is picked up.

This system will also bring in much cooler air, with afternoon highs dropping into the mid-50s Friday and Saturday! A welcome change if you want it to finally feel like December.

As for air quality, PM-10 is forecast to remain in the Good AQI category through the forecast period.
