Get Involved With Watershed Protection
ADEQ counts on public involvement in targeted watersheds. Opportunities for volunteer monitoring and developing partnerships with watershed groups are available and highly encouraged.
Partnerships are essential to effective watershed management. A watershed partnership is a coalition different individuals and organizations in a community, working together to address common interests and concerns with a mission to improve the health and enjoyment of their watershed.
Water quality monitoring by volunteers is an important component in improving watershed health. ADEQ encourages citizens in targeted watersheds to coordinate and become volunteer monitors. Volunteers are essential to helping identify nonpoint sources of pollution and conditions of streams when ADEQ staff are not available to provide crucial data back to ADEQ.
