Why do I need a Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) Minor Discharges of Domestic Wastewater General Permit?

This permit is for minor municipal/domestic direct discharges to a surface water that fits the definition of “waters of the U.S.,” as described in the Clean Water Act. This permit is for domestic wastewater treatment plants with a design capacity of less than one million gallons per day. This permit is valid for five years. A renewal permit can be continued past five years, if a renewal application is received 180 days prior to the expiration date of the permit.
