Why do I need an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) Biosolids General Permit?

Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elemination System (AZPDES)

Biosolids General Permit (GP)

This permit is for the land application of biosolids. This permit is for privately and publicly owned wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) that prepare biosolids for land application, and that do not have coverage under an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) individual or general permit containing provisions for the treatment of biosolids. The permit is also for treatment works treating domestic sewage which are not WWTPs and prepare biosolids for land application. The permit is valid for five years. A renewal permit can be continued past five years, if a renewal application is received 180 days prior to the expiration date of the permit.
