Notice: Pursuant to the Clean Water Act and in accordance with Arizona Administrative Code (AAC) R18-9-A907, the Director of ADEQ proposes to issue an Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (AZPDES) Permit to discharge pollutants to U.S. waters to the following applicant, subject to certain effluent limitations and special conditions:

Information

Bison Ranch Owners Association Inc. applied for a renewal AZPDES permit for the proposed discharge of up to 0.08 million gallons per day of treated domestic wastewater from the Bison Ranch WWTP to the Pierce Seep in the Little Colorado River Basin in Township 12 N, Range 17 E, Section 34, in Navajo County, Ariz. The Bison Ranch WWTP is a publicly owned treatment works that receives domestic wastewater from residential and commercial sources in the Bison Ranch Development and Resort Community. The Bison Ranch 2016 Biosolids Annual Report indicates sludge is transported to the Town of Taylor for disposal.

Public Comment Period 

Dates: June 23, 2017 – July 24, 2017

All written comments received by ADEQ by the close of business 30 days after publication of this notice will be considered in the final permit decision. A public hearing request must be in writing and must include the reasons for such request. If there is a significant degree of public interest, the Director will hold a hearing in accordance with Arizona Administrative Code R18-9-A908(B).
