ADEQ Awards $15,129 in Brownfields Grants to Citizens Business League of Arizona

ADEQ officials announced today two Brownfields Grant awards totaling $15,129 to the Citizens Business League of Arizona (CBLA) to support preservation and redevelopment plans for three historically significant structures on property located at 689 Virden Road in Duncan. A non-profit organization, the CBLA recently purchased the 14-acre property, which includes three buildings known as  the Scale and Seed Houses and the Gin.

ADEQ Awards Nearly $34,000 in Brownfields Grants to City of Peoria for Old Town Revitalization

ADEQ officials announced today two Brownfields Grant awards ($4,998 and $28,975) to the City of Peoria to perform Phase I/II environmental site assessments (ESAs) at the former Peoria Dry Cleaners and Laundry located in the area of the city's Old Town redevelopment plans at 10456 N. 83rd Ave.

Air Quality Control Permits

ADEQ issued Air Quality Permit Nos. 62877, 62878, and 63895 to Energy Fuels Resources (USA), Inc. for the Canyon, EZ, and Arizona 1 uranium mines on Oct. 13, 2016. The EZ and Arizona 1 mines are located north of Grand Canyon National Park, and approximately 35 southwest of Fredonia, and the Canyon mine is located south of Grand Canyon National Park and approximately 6.5 miles southeast of Tusayan.

ADEQ is issuing an ozone High Pollution Advisory (HPA) for Maricopa County, effective Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016. This HPA is due to ozone levels expected to accumulate enough to exceed the new, lower federal health standard for ozone.
