DOING BUSINESS WITH ADEQ: HOW WE PURCHASE

ADEQ purchases what it needs in two basic ways. For many of the more ordinary goods and services it uses, ADEQ uses vendors that have been awarded state contracts from the State Procurement Office Leaving ADEQ Web site, or SPO. For more specialized goods and services that are not provided for by state contracts, ADEQ does its own procurement.

SPO maintains a bidder's list. When ADEQ, or any other state agency, performs procurements over $50,000, we use the SPO bidder's list. You do not have to register with SPO to do business with ADEQ, but you are much more likely to hear of opportunities if you do. Registration is easy and free. You can call SPO at (602) 542-5511 to get a registration form or visit their Web site Leaving ADEQ Web site.

Procurements between $5,000 and $50,000 are made through small businesses when practicable. "A small business is one that, including its affiliates, is independently owned and operated, is not dominant in the type of business it conducts, and which employs fewer than 100 full time employees or which has gross receipts of less than $4 million in its last fiscal year."
