ADEQ's Emergency Response Unit works to minimize injuries, deaths, property damage and threats to human health and the environment from chemical spills, fires, explosions and other pollutant releases by stabilizing emergency incidents through its role as the environmental support agency of the state of Arizona Emergency Response and Recovery Plan Leaving ADEQ Web site.

To report a hazardous spill or to reach the ADEQ Emergency Response Duty Office, please phone (602) 771-2330 or, toll free, at (800) 234-5677.

Report a release from a leaking underground fuel storage tank.

To report a sewage or wastewater spill:

  • In Apache, Coconino, Mohave, Navajo and Yavapai counties, contact ADEQ's Northern Regional Office.
  • In Cochise, Graham, Greenlee, Pima, Santa Cruz, and Yuma counties, contact ADEQ's Southern Regional Office.
  • In Gila, La Paz, Maricopa and Pinal counties, contact ADEQ's Water Quality Inspections Unit.
