ADEQ's Northern Regional Office (NRO) in Flagstaff serves Apache, Coconino, Mohave, Navajo, and Yavapai counties.

Responsible for a limited number of agency programs, NRO conducts inspections and complaint investigations of permitted and non-permitted sources of air pollution, public drinking water systems, wastewater treatment facilities and other discharging facilities. The office processes open burn permit applications, completes plan reviews to ensure proper design and construction of public drinking water treatment systems and distribution systems, and wastewater collection systems and on-site wastewater disposal facilities. It also reviews and approves subdivision plans.
