East Central Phoenix Notices/Meetings

PUBLIC NOTICE | Notice of FS Availability and Removal from Registry for East Central Phoenix 38th Street and Indian School Road WQARF Site

ADEQ has completed the feasibility study (FS) for the East Central Phoenix (ECP) 38th Street and Indian School Road Water Quality Assurance Revolving Fund (WQARF) site in Phoenix, Ariz. An FS is conducted to identify a reference remedy and alternative remedies that appear to be capable of achieving established remedial objectives and to evaluate them based on the comparison criteria to select a remedy. However, identification and screening of remedial technologies and alternatives are not necessary because groundwater at the site no longer exceeds the Arizona Aquifer Water Quality Standard (AWQS) of 5 micrograms per Liter (µg/L) for tetrachloroethene (PCE).

Pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes § 49-287.01(K), ADEQ made a determination that no further remedial action is necessary at the site and has removed the site from the WQARF Registry. The basis for this determination is contained within the FS.

The site consisted of a plume located in Phoenix, Ariz. The plume boundaries were defined by the areal extent of the former PCE groundwater above the AWQS of 5 µg/L, which was bounded by Indian School Road to the north, East Piccadilly Road to the south, 38th Street to the east, and 35th Street to the west.
